What are memory foam Mattresses?

Memory foam mattresses were originally developed for NASA for their aircraft cushions back in the 1960's but then they became popular for medical purposes. Lying or sleeping on a bed puts pressure on certain parts or bones of the body. Memory foam mattresses mould to the shape of the person taking this pressure away.

Mattress Sizes

Generally you will find 5 different sizes of Mattresses. A single Mattress is 3ft in length. A small double mattress is 4ft. A double mattress is 4ft 6 inches, king size mattresses are 5ft and a super king size mattress is 6ft.

A mattress topper is a good way of rejuvenating your old mattress. It is basically another layer of mattress that sits on top of your old one. They are usually much thinner than a normal mattress typically 30cm high.
